The Welcome Stamp is a special remote-work visa launched by the Government of Barbados to attract digital nomads, location-independent professionals and their families. The programme has been approved through December 31, 2026, and grants successful applicants the right to live in Barbados for 12 months while continuing to work for employers or clients based outside the country.
It's a serious, legitimate visa — not a tourist workaround. Holders enjoy tax advantages, can bring their family, and can renew if they continue to qualify.
Eligibility at a glance
- You must work remotely for a company based outside Barbados, or run a business that serves clients located abroad.
- You cannot take up employment with a Barbadian company while on the Welcome Stamp.
- You must demonstrate annual income of at least USD $50,000 (combined household income is acceptable for family applications).
- You must hold valid health insurance covering your entire stay.
- Your passport must be valid for the duration of the visa period.

Fees are payable only after approval and are non-refundable.
Family applications
The Welcome Stamp is genuinely family-friendly. Spouses and dependent children can be included on a single application under the Family Bundle. You'll need to provide birth certificates (for children) and marriage certificates (for spouses) to prove the relationship. Children attending school in Barbados during the stay can enrol in local public schools or in one of the island's well-regarded international schools.

- Gather documents — passport bio page, recent bank statements, employment or business contracts, proof of insurance, and family certificates if applying as a household.
- Submit your application via the official Government of Barbados Welcome Stamp portal.
- Wait for review — typical processing time is 5–7 business days once documents are complete.
- Pay the fee after approval and receive your stamp.
