The Barbados Welcome Stamp

Live and work from Barbados — for up to 12 months.

The Barbados Welcome Stamp lets remote workers, freelancers and their families live, work and learn from the island on a renewable 12-month visa. Here's what to know — and how we can help.

The Welcome Stamp is a special remote-work visa launched by the Government of Barbados to attract digital nomads, location-independent professionals and their families. The programme has been approved through December 31, 2026, and grants successful applicants the right to live in Barbados for 12 months while continuing to work for employers or clients based outside the country.

It's a serious, legitimate visa — not a tourist workaround. Holders enjoy tax advantages, can bring their family, and can renew if they continue to qualify.

Family applications

The Welcome Stamp is genuinely family-friendly. Spouses and dependent children can be included on a single application under the Family Bundle. You'll need to provide birth certificates (for children) and marriage certificates (for spouses) to prove the relationship. Children attending school in Barbados during the stay can enrol in local public schools or in one of the island's well-regarded international schools.

How to apply

Where JE Real Estate fits in

The Welcome Stamp application itself is handled by the Government of Barbados — but everything around it (where to live, what neighbourhood suits your work and lifestyle, what a fair rent looks like, which landlords have hosted remote workers before) is exactly what we do.

We've helped Welcome Stamp tenants from the US, Canada, the UK, Germany and beyond find the right rental — usually within two to three weeks. Tell us where you are, what you do, and what your week looks like, and we'll come back with a shortlist that actually fits.

Good to know: the Welcome Stamp does not restrict your ability to purchase property in Barbados. Foreign-buyer rules, including Central Bank approval, apply in the normal way — and we can guide you through that too.
